Honeyboy Edwards at the Orpheum

Blues master (and perhaps the last living link back to the days of Robert Johnson and Son House) Honeyboy Edwards will bring his amazing talents to Galesburg for a show at the Orpheum (Galesburg, IL) on Thursday, October 30th. Honeyboy’s life has been intertwined with almost every major blues legend, including Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Big Joe Williams, Big Walter, Magic Sam, Muddy Waters, and the list goes on forever. Sustainable Gardens Tour to benefit the Horn Field Campus

When: Saturday, July 26, 2008
Time: Garden Tour, 10am-4pm, 4pm-8pm, Reception and concert
Price: $20 which includes a map of local, sustainable garders, refreshments by Salsarites and entertainment from 5-7:30 by Blue Rhythm recording artist (and member of the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame) Patrick Hazell
Where: Horn Field Campus (985 China Road, Macomb)
How to get tickets: People can call 309-833-5798 to get their tickets. Then they can either pick them up at Horn the day of the garden tour, or we can mail them. They can also pick them up the day of the event.

All proceeds go to Horn Field Campus for development of facilities and sustainable landscaping projects.

Local Music Calendar

Chicago Blues Festival

This year, the famous Chicago Blues Festival will take place from June 5th through June 8th at Grant Park. This free festival will feature over 110 blues acts (including standouts like B.B. King, Lurrie Bell, Buckwheat Zydeco, Pinetop Perkins, Johnny Winter, James Cotton, Lonnie Brooks, Koko Taylor, T-Model Ford and over 100 others) and will draw a total crowd of over three quarters of a million blues fans.

Catfish Keith at Rendezvous Farm

This just in:

I wanted to let you know that we are hosting Catfish Keith here at Rendezvous Farm for a house concert on Sunday June 15th at 3:00pm. It will be an outdoor concert. Tickets are $12. Thought you might want to add it to your calendar on your blues site. This is Father's Day so we hope to get some folks out with their dads....would make a great Father's Day gift to good ol' dad! Open Mic Night on Thursdays in Monmouth

Come up to McMahon's Pub every Thursday for an accoustic Open Mic night hosted by Charlie Hayes (starting May 1st, 2008). Come to listen, play or sing.
