How to Make Fabric Wall Panels
Fabric wall panels give character and color to a room. Each fabric style can be used in this project, including abstract patterns or printed patterns with images such as toiles. This type of room decoration covers a cool wall with a variety of textures. Use fabrics with red, orange and yellow to add warmth to a room, or blue and green to cool a room. Choose your favorite furniture and use a similar fabric on a wall panel.
Cut a 1-inch with 1-inch aboard into four equal pieces for a fabric wall panels, or cut two pieces longer than the other two to create a rectangle. Raise the corners and nail small nails in the corners with a light hammer to create a frame. Measure the wooden frame dimensions with a tape measure and add 2 inches to the length and width. This gives you enough space to sweep the fabric around the frame. Lay the fabric flat, and cut a piece to the correct measurements, using a scissors.
Cut a length of double-sided tape and hold it on the front of the frame. Attach the tape to the other three sides of the frame. Remove the protective paper from the top of the tape and lay the fabric wall panels on top of the frame. Adjust the fabric so that it is flat and wrinkle free. Push edges down to hold the fabric on the tape. Wrap on the fabric around the frame and staple it to the back of the frame with an electric stapler. Attach the fabric to the bottom of the frame with labels.
